Acme Mapper 2 site (& other satellite and top views) show that area is greatly despoiled compared with description from early 1930s.
Appears to be very extensive road building and clear-cutting. Not really wilderness.
I passed through Nakina on railroad in 1974. Seemed pretty woodsy.......

Hey John
I too looked at google earth and thought the whole place has been clear cut. Having been to Nakina the last 2 summers I can tell you it is very woodsy. In fact I never really saw any signs of logging. While on the lakes and rivers was like stepping back in time. It is true you can get to a lot of place by road, a lot of the old logging roads are grown back in. My next trip to Nakina I plan on taking a plane trip over the trap line. Maybe signs of logging will show then but I can tell you the places I've been you have to be careful if you leave the trail you don't become lost. Russ
