I logged on to the link Brian and asked about the diaries. They emailed back saying they checked and they didn't have them. They said it was funny though that was the second request for the diaries in 2 days. I assume the other request was you Brian. They are still in contact with Meaders son but I didn't ask for an address. That's good the more interest we can create the better the chances of finding info. Russ

: Katie A. Windham [mailto:kathleen.windham@usm.edu] Sent: Thursday, April 12, 2007 14:23 To: Schweikert, Brian CONT Subject: RE: Request from deGrummond On-Line Form Dear Brian- I just looked through the 2 boxes we have in our Stephen Meader Collection. Unfortunately, we do not have anything you might be looking for. Although, I did skim an informal memoir he typed in hopes that he might mention something regarding the publication you are researching. However, it was more of a history of his family than anything else. There are only a few pieces of correspondence in our files and none of these mention this publication, or, are to or from any of the people you mentioned in your e-mail. Although, I did read where his son mentioned that some of his father's papers are at the Kerlan Collection. Here is the link to their finding aid on Stephen Meader: special.lib.umn.edu/findaid/xml/CLRC-947.xmlAgain, I don't believe what you want is listed on their finding aid...but you just never know what someone might find in the files! I am sorry I could not be more helpful to you and your research, but I appreciate your contacting us! You seem to be very passionate and thorough in your research and this is inspiring! Best of luck to you! Sincerely, Katie A. Windham -- Collection Specialist de Grummond Children's Literature Collection McCain Library and Archives The University of Southern Mississippi
