[/img] i194.photobucket.com/albums/z42/traplines/BigLVanderbeckonrightWabacabin.jpg?t=1221685792For some reason I can't post all three pictures at once so we'll have to do this one picture at a time. In the first picture is a younger Big Lindsay Vanderbeck on the right. Check out his broken suspenders and his belt in the book. Could be the same. I think the fellow on the left could be a young Joe or Michel Lagarde. Look at the picture in the book and compare. I think there is a strong resemblance. Check out the nose. I also think this is the cabin at Waba when it was new before the deck was built on front. What do you think?

Russ, Thanks for posting these photos. I agree with your assessment. The cabin is the one on Waba Lake as a new built. The logs look newly cut, and there is no vegetation visible on the ground. Looks for sure like a building site. The platform visible in the book photo was added later, the door frame updated to regular sawmill boards, and the vertical support from the ridge pole down to nearly the door header must have been a repair job also done later. The Big Lindsay in your new photo and the Big Lindsay in the book photo, are obviously the same man. Same chin, nose, slope to the shoulders, and the hint of a smile in both photos. I was struck, although, by the effects of aging and a lengthy illness on a once great man. I think we all recall from the book at Jim's shock when he saw his father for the first time after his return from the hospital in Toronto. Now I know why. The other young man in the new photo I think is Joe Lagarde. Michel Lagarde, in the book photo, is much more muscular, with broader features, which are not apparent in the young man in the new photo. Great picture! Is it possible that the other man in the picture could be Charlie Blue?
By the way, I have posted this picture and several others that Russ and John have sent out after their Nakina voyage on the main site's Photograph's page as well (http://traplinesnorth.tripod.com/images.htm.)
