I did some checking last summer on old newspapers on microfilm at libraries and this was the response.

Hello, your request was forwarded to us by the Community Services Department.
Thank you for sending in a request.
Our index to the old newspapers prior to 1970, covers the Fort William newspaper
only. It dates back to approximately 1933. I have checked the index for articles
and do not see anything on Nakina.
I also checked the clippping files that date back to 1965 in case there was an
article written years later, but don't see anything.
Our newspapers are not accessible via a computer. We do not lend our newspapers.
You would have to visit your local public library and ask if they would request
the newspapers, on microfilm for you from the National Library of Canada. The
National Library does not charge for this service. They would send it to your
local library for you to view.
In the 1930s the Fort William newspaper was the Daily Times Journal and the Port
Arthur newspaper was the News Chronicle.
I have checked the "Inventory of Ontario newspapers 1793 -1986". There is
nothing listed for Nakina. The newspaper in Geraldton appears to start in
1937, or late 1936.
As an alternative we can provide you with the names of local researchers in
Thunder Bay. We do not know what they charge and don't endorse one person over
another. Just let us know if you would like this list.
You may also want to try contacting thelibrary in Nakina or Geraldton. I don't
know if they have local history files.
